Located on Dillon Reservoir in Colorado, Windy Point Campground is the perfect outdoor wedding venue for small weddings and elopements. It features stunning lake and mountain views as well as multiple ceremony sites and a reception pavilion.

About windy Point Campground
Windy Point Campground is a reservable ceremony location overlooking Dillon Reservoir in Colorado. Here are a few reasons to consider Windy Point Campground for your wedding venue:
Accessible, scenic views
There are two ceremony locations to choose from with scenic views of the surrounding forest, lake and mountain ranges. Both locations are easy to access (a short walk from the parking lot)- no hiking required! PLUS it’s only a 2 hour drive from the Denver Airport.
You can invite up to 100 guests
If you’re planning a ceremony with more than ~15 guests, you’re going to need to reserve a location like this. Windy Point is suitable for weddings with up to 100 people (though we’d suggest 50 maximum).
Affordable & simple to book
Windy Point Campground is one of the most affordable small wedding venues in Colorado, and it’s easy to book. It’s not a competitive reservation to secure and it can all be done online.
Windy Point Campground Wedding Cost
The cost to reserve Windy Point Campground for your wedding is $240 for the Forest Loop or $294 for the Lake Loop. This is significantly more affordable than most wedding venues in Colorado!
You can make your reservation via Reservation.Gov up to six months in advance. Unlike some venues (like Maroon Bells) these reservations are not competitive, they are quite easy to secure.
Windy Point Campground is available May 18th to September 30th each year. Outside of these dates, the gate is closed and you are unable to access the location.
Which Venue To Reserve
We suggest renting both the Forest Loop and Lake Loop for your wedding. This way, you will have access to the beautiful mountain ceremony site at the Forest Loop as well as the covered pavilion for a rain plan and reception option. You may also have more privacy by reserving both locations, as they allow you to close the gate which limits other visitors. However, if we were to choose one or the other we would choose the Forest Loop for the stunning views and perfect sunset lighting.
Forest Loop
The forest loop has a perfect mountain view ceremony location. It also is a short walk down to the lake for the best of both worlds! There is no covered area for a reception or rain plan, but there are picnic benches, bathrooms, and a fire pit.

Lake Loop
The Lake Loop features a water front pavilion which is perfect for small receptions as well as the perfect back-up ceremony location incase of inclement weather.
