The Engine Room Wedding
The Venue
Regan and Tim chose the Engine Room in Monroe, GA for their wedding because it perfectly fit the industrial vibe they were going for. They instantly fell in love with the historic building when they saw the hard wood floors and open concept reception space. It made it where everyone could easily move about and still feel like theyāre a part of the party!
This was our first time shooting at The Engine room and we were beyond excited. We knew the lighting inside was going to be great when we saw the floor to ceiling windows lining the entire building. The ambient lighting matched with the exposed brick created the perfect atmosphere for an industrial wedding! Plus, the atrium where the ceremony was held was so unique.
The Couple
Reagan & Tim met in college through their sorority and fraternity. At first they were just friends, but at homecoming they started talking and became official that December. Since then they have supported each other through graduating college, job hunting, their dog passing, applying to grad school and.. getting engaged! Reagan and Tim compliment each other well and are always encouraging each other to be their best.
Timothy loves working on cars and projects. Recently he has really gotten into 3D printing parts to repurpose a vintage coke machine he has. Reagan has been training in aerial silks when she has time between classes for grad school. She enjoys reading, cooking, and all sorts of arts. Together they love watching movies and tv shows, even though Tim always hates that she reads the spoilers! You can usually find them in Atlanta with friends at the Battery or PBR.
The Planning
The couple planned their wedding based on a very detailed mood board. They had a clear vision early on which helped make the execution seamless. With Regan and Tim both being artistic, they were able to DIY majority of their dƩcor- even the arbor! Reagan also painted the most amazing gifts for her grandparents by recreating their wedding portraits.
Mustard yellow, desert rose, and sage green were the main colors with supporting toned down versions like champagne, petal pink, and a darker olive green. They wanted a more unique color palette than what they was seeing on Pinterest so they picked some of their favorite colors and added other shades to bridge the gaps.
Reagan and Tim wanted to ensure that while it was about the two of them, they werenāt too much the center of attention. They had attention grabbing pieces that were still meaningful to them like the armadillo cake and the arbor they built. Ultimately, they just wanted a relaxed and fun event for everyone to attend together.
The Wedding Day
Reagan and Tim’s original date was April 18th, however like many couples they were forced to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. This was actually the first wedding we shot since COVID-19 shut everything down. Despite everything going on, their family and friends showed up to see the couple tie the knot!
We always love to start the day off with the details. Reagan had the most gorgeous dress from Jenny Yoo. The strands from the dress were actually supposed to tie up in a bow, but she decided to leave it undone and it made for the perfect feature since we loove to throw flowy dresses for photos! They also had the most unique invitation suite I think we’ve ever seen!
Reagan and Tim opted to share a first look to be able to see each other and calm their nerves prior to the ceremony. This also gave us lots of time to take photos of them with their bridal party and family so we had more time after the ceremony for their newly wed portraits!
The couple had a very short and sweet ceremony outdoors in the brick courtyard. After we took newly portraits we ran inside to bask in the AC and devour some tacos from The Grand Gourmet before the reception began!Ā Unfortunately Tim had a medical emergency near the end of the night (he’s okay!), so instead of a send off we did some night portraits of Reagan. In sickness and in health! Overall, Reagan and Tim’s wedding at the Engine Room was wonderful and we’re so happy to have been there to document it for them.
Below is the video we created for Reagan & Timothy!!
