What is a second shooter, and why should you think about hiring one for your wedding day? Honestly, there’s a ton of reasons why we believe having two photographers on your wedding day is crucial- let’s talk about a few:
It only happens once:
Your first kiss, the bouquet toss, the send off.. These are only a few things during the day that will happen in the blink of an eye. These are moments that you will never get back, unless it’s captured in a photograph. Even the greatest photographer can miss these shots if their equipment malfunctions, someone stands up right in their way at the last second, etc. Having two photographers focused on capturing these moments minimizes any chance that these shots can be missed.

Location, location, location:
What if you’re getting ready at a different location than your fiancé, at the same time? You’ll need two photographers to ensure both of you are documented while getting ready for your big day. Throughout the rest of the day this is also important, since there will be different things happening around the venue at all times and having two shooters there increases the amount we’re able to document.

Perspective:
This may go without saying, but having two photographers will not only increase the amount of photos you will receive back from your day, but also the variety of perspective in the photos. During the ceremony for example, if you only have one photographer they will be primarily focused on photographing the couple, as they need to make sure they don’t miss any important moments. However, if you have two photographers, they will be able to focus on your guests, your family’s reactions, and details that may not be able to be photographed with only one photographer.

All of the collections we offer come with two photographers (Greg & I), because we deeply believe that having two photographers is important for a wedding day. Do you have any questions or comments about second shooters? We’d love to know, send us an email and let’s chat!
