Engagement photos in a cemetery?? I know, it sounds a bit weird. Trust us, though, Oakland Cemetery is a beautiful location! We love Oakland Cemetery engagement sessions because the scenery, cacti and palmettos truly makes it feel like you aren’t in the city of Atlanta.
We already knew we would love Caitlin and Ian since they found us on a Facebook group for My Favorite Murder (we love true crime)! But whenĀ they described themselves as “fun, caring, creative cat parents that are basically a walking Parks and Rec quote” we knew the session was going to go amazing.
Caitlin and Ian met at a music festival called Hulaween down in Florida at the end of October 2017.Ā They clicked instantly the first night that they were there and spent the entire weekend together listening to their favorite music, camping with friends, and getting to know one another!
They both happened to live in Tallahassee and knew they wanted to spend more time together when they got home. Immediately after the festival, Caitlin got super sick and Ian brought over a bunch of different soups (seriously like 6 different kinds of soup!) and Caitlin claims this is when she knew they were in it for the long haul. They’ve been together ever since! Each year they go back to the same festival, now as artists with their own art installations, to mark the anniversary of when they met. How cool is that?!
We had the best time photographing their engagement session at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta and are beyond excited to see them again at their wedding at Terminus 330 next fall!
